Staying cool in the Summer

Let's face it. Summer is freggin miserable in Biloxi. We knew that coming in, but man, how quickly you forget how hot this place gets.
Summer technically started a little over a week ago and so far, it's been what we've thought. To tell you the truth, I thought Summer started at least a month ago. So it was to my surprise when I found out it just started.
We are determined to not let 100 degree 100 percent humidity get in our way of fun! I've been snapping some pictures of just how much fun we can have while staying nice and cool... for the toddler AND the preggers ;)

Ok. We have some AH-mazing neighbors! We are pretty much the only two families left on our whole street! They are in the house directly to the left of us so it's nice to have them close by. Eric and I came out one afternoon to see what some strange noise was, only to find this beast! It is a massive 40 ft duel inflatable water slide! The couple decided instead of spending money on going on a 10 year anniversary trip, they would buy this for their two Boys. That's love. Emme is welcome anytime to play and the boys are SO respectful and play SO well with her. Seriously, what kid gets to have their own 40 ft water slide??? :)

Loves those stairs but hates the spraying water at the top

Next, what kid doesn't love bubbles??
To say my kid is a little obsessed with them is definitely an understatement.
We let her play with them as rewards for such things as cleaning the entire living room, going to the bathroom on the potty, and asking her to sit still in church so we "can go home and play with bubbles". She loves them.

We stay nice and wet during bubbles to keep cool (and Mama gets to water the backyard)

She thinks it's hilarious when she drinks from the hose. She says she's silly.

This next place in an absolute God send. For only $5, my toddler can partake in all the bouncy fun castles she can handle. Monkey Joes is a little bit of a drive, but so worth it. It has a parents center with computers and lounge chairs and of course it's nice and cool. Emme wasn't happy with it at first when Mama said she couldn't go in the castles with her because of Baby Sissy, but learned real quickly that either she plays by herself or we go home. We try and go there at least once a week. She likes to tell me stories of Monkey Joes daily, probably just in case I might forget to take her.

She loves it when Daddy comes - he can do all the fun things with her :)

Next, we have the pool!
We got memberships to a gym not too long ago and with it comes unlimited access to their sweet outdoor pools. They have a kiddie pool that is about 1 1/2 ft deep so little ones can splash around without parents having to hold them. They have a lap pool that Eric uses a lot and they have a regular pool that Emme and I use the most. We like to go to the pool about 3 times a week. She is learning to "swim" by kicking her feet and moving her arms while we support her belly. She floats around the pool using a few noodles and gets angry when we come close to her to try and help. That's cool because Mama relaxes while working on a sweet maternity swimsuit tan ;)

Daddies are the best for pool fun!

Yes, I know Mississippi is hot.
Yes, I know I'm going to be pregnant the rest of the summer.

Keeping entertained during the hottest of days is a cinch with our family ;)
