You didn't tell me

You told me about the long shifts, days and nights.

You told me about the commanders and their lovely wives.

You told me about the chain of commmand, and how i would live by it.

But you didn't tell me how proud of you i would be.

You told me about the temporary duty and many moves.

You told me about overseas tours.

You told me about payday, and how we would stretch the dollar.

You didn't tell me about the honor i would feel.

You told me about the wives' club and family support.

You told me about tricare.

You told me about base housing, and how no two are alike.

You didn't tell me that at the start of "God bless the USA" I would shed not one, but many tears.

You told me about how Christmas would be in Germany.

You told me about the commissary and PX.

You told me we would need many sets of curtains.

You didn't tell me how our children would look up to you, and want to be like Dad.

You told me about the hard times and how we would have many.

You told me about the stress of being a military spouse.

You told me sometimes i would be a single parent, and that in spirit you would be with me.

But you didn't tell me that when i saw your uniform in the laundry, i would swell with respect.

You didn't tell me how much of a part the military would play in our lives and how i would never want it any other way!

Our little 7 month old!

Yesterday Emmelyn turned the big 7 months! With that brings new news! I'll start off with the dr's visit. She went a couple days ago so the info is pretty accurate. She is now weighing in at 15 lbs 9 oz and is 27 inches long (6.10 lbs / 20 in at birth). She still is in size 3-6 month clothes and size 3 diapers. She also has done the following...

* Sit up on her own for a long time without toppling over.

* Drinks from a sippy.

* Laughs at Mommy and Ace (our doggy) all the time.

* Is finally getting use to the day care at the gym. It's only for 2 hours a day but she didn't like it at first.

* Acts like she is going to crawl anytime now... She scoots places and rolls around everywhere.

* She popped out TWO bottom teeth! Poor baby, she didn't seem to like it much.
* I can't believe i forgot this... She is sleeping through the night!! Happy Mommy over here!! She is sleeping 8pm-8am! Whoooo whooooo! We all couldn't be happier!

* Not more to say other then her personality is just to die for. I can't help but kiss her little cheek all day! She is just too stinkin cuuute!

My new book

So i like to get sleepy by reading before i fall asleep. Typically I am a huge fan of Nora Roberts, Danielle Steel, or Nicholas Sparks. Since Eric has been gone, it seems reading those types of books are more upsetting then relaxing... go figure. So smart me thought it would be a good idea to read this......

I thought it would be interesting to read, but the timing couldn't be more off. I thought i was doing myself a favor by staying away from the romance books but this one takes the cake! I do recommend it, just make sure your hubby is near by to reasure that everything will be okay and it's all worth it! lol just a tip....

California Trip - Part 3

Next was most important! We celebrated Emmelyn's 1/2 birthday! She turned 6 months on June 25th. We celebrated with balloons and a cake that gma and gpa got her.

Here are the following milestones she has hit!...

*She is able to sit up for 30 secs-1 min

* Pushes up on her hands and scoots herself around

*Sleeps about 4-5 hours at a time at night

* Loves other people other then Mom now

* Is def going to start teething ANY time now!

* Laughs without for no reason sometimes- it's so cute!

* Says words now like "Ba ba ba" ALLLLL day long =)

* Still talks every ones ear off, she has alot to say...

* In size 3 diapers. In size 3-6 month clothes. Still don't know height and weight

* I am now thinking I want to breastfeed her longer then her first year. She went through a period where it was a struggle to feed her. Now she can't get enough!

* She eats cereal mixed with veggies or fruit one to two times a day

* I'm still doing the 4 B's..... Bath, Book, Boob, then Bed. I love that routine!

* Sleeps in bed with Mom for about half the night which I am starting not to mind.

* She is really becoming so fun and so quirky! I love her personality!!

California Trip - Part 2

When we got back from the river trip we had a little over a week left in Cali. Ash took me under her wing and we had all sorts of fun! One night we went to an Angels game where it was free cooler night! I love a good bargin =) I also bought emme an Angels bib as a souviner. During that date, Grandpa and Grandma were on baby duty! It was so nice of them to watch her so Mommy could have a break. Ha ha, and a break i took! They ended up winning and it was a fun outting.

On a friday night she cooked dinner at her place and had her mother-in-law over (what a fun loving person she was!) And we all watched a movie. Emme wasn't wanting to go to sleep while there so she watched the movie with us. It was an awesome girls night for sure. Here are some picstures of the game.....

California- Part 1

WOW. What a full two weeks Emme and I have had. I decided the way I want to blog about this is to just separate the trip into parts. That way I don't get overwhelmed or forget anything. Let me start off by saying how needed this get away was! =) I am so grateful I have amazing in-laws, they have always made me feel welcome and loved. So this trip was to see them and have a break from our lives out in Texas while Eric is away. I'll take you through a time line of our 2 weeks. These pictures are priceless.........

Emme with Daddy Doll ready to board the plane. She is so excited!

On the plane ready to land

After a long plane ride and a 4 hour car ride we made it to Lost Lake (about 1/2 hour outside of Havasu). Now it's time to relax with Grandpa!

Testing the water soon after we got there. It was soooo nice.

I promise she liked it... =)

With Grandpa on his boat I nicknamed "Lighthouse". haha.

Grandma always can get you to sleep. We love her for that! =)

Ashlee and I's rule for the river: No hair-doing or make-up allowed!

My night to make food. Made some good ol' Shish-Cabobs!

All ready to go out on the boat!

Down on one of the beaches at Lake Havasu with everyone!

Under the shade with a hat and sunscreen and still gets sun. I don't how things work sometimes..

Baby river rat in her baby boat

=( went doon buggin for about 5 min until we lost 2nd gear and had to limp it back home. It was fun while it lasted! Hopefully next time the buggy will be up and running! =)

So that was the first part of the trip.. from what the pics shows, Emme too, was exhausted from all that fun!

Woke up just at we arrived back home to Grandpa's house in Orange County.

Stay tuned for the next part of our adventure!.............
