July anyone??

So far June has been a pretty rough month. Nothing drastically wrong, just lots of little things that have been draining away my positivity, leaving me feeling tired, drab and sad. To name just a couple... We're onto our third week with a sick kid. Mom is on her second. Emmers is actually feeling well at the moment but still coughing so we've been trying to come up with activities both Mom and Toddler can handle. Eric is due home in just 10 more days! I am ready to clock out and take a big nap when he gets in (right after a biiig hug and kiss from his girls). We have missed our buddy, haven't we Emme? I was challenged about my attitude today though, truly I have so much to be grateful for and so little to complain about. Wallowing isn't particularly fun and I'm ready to change tack and focus on the good stuff.
So, here's what's made me smile this afternoon:

Some comfort items..

E. Enjoying some peanut butter crakers and milk.

Mom enjoying some hot hot tea with the ac turned down to 72 degrees... Bliss..

Anyway, please July, do not hesitate to show up sooner than later. For you, I have been waiting for all Summer. You are my happy thought for the moment.

Yes,

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Just for Grandpa

Thank you for encouraging me to keep this blog up to date. I love hearing that people enjoy it- hence the special shout out =). I also know I will love to have this journal for my family to have and remember some of the best moments in detail. So I took these today for you- our biggest fan.

Yikes, here we go again.

Just when Emmelyn decides to put Mommy on the back burner for a bit and become best friends with Daddy, he has to leave for Florida for a month.

He will be done with this training in 27 days.

Emme don't you DARE forget how close you were with him, you pick it right back up when he steps through that door. =) thank you.

In the mean time, be safe, blow things up, play with guns, and have some fun babe. Love you.

xoxo

What we've been up too...

A few things worth mentioning:

Days playing in the warm weather before it becomes intolerable.
Playing in the new above ground pool we we're dying for.
Letting Emme go crazy at the park with our Ace and lots of bubbles.
Letting Emme turn 17 months... I guess she can grow another month older... =(
Playing with her pal Ryleigh while Mom and Dad take some breaks with their pals.
Teaching Emme sounds, words, and songs. She likes to pretend and mimic with "da-das" and "Baaaabps".
Mom wearing out the word "no" and "put it back".
Enjoying her nap time and bedtime bc she still enjoys them.
Watching her from the daycare window at the gym while Mom works out. I melt when I see her playing with other kids.
Waiting for 4:30pm to roll around so I can tell her "Daddy's home" and have her squeal and run to the window to see his car pull up.
Seeing my two loves embrace everyday when he gets home from work.
Giving her a paper towel and watch her "clean" the house with Mommy.
Spending weekend mornings in bed with my family before we get up for the day.

Here are some pics from the last few weeks.

Babe and I out for a Mothers day date.. eating yummy BBQ and Baseball =)

A trip back home

Emmers and I took a trip in April mainly to celebrate my little Sister's wedding in San Diego. It was a perfect time to get some visits and site seeing in while there. It was a very short trip- about 3 days- so we had alot to do! Here is a little of what it consisted of.....

All three cousins together for the first time.

Emmelyn modeling this adorable dress Grandma got her.

Meredith's wedding reception with my little Claire Bear!

Witnessed the most beautiful bride in her HAND made dress she made herself

Also made the jewelry and vail

Delt with an overwhelmed little toddler that was off her schedule and REALLY let Mama know

Went to the Oceanside Harbor and had some bbq and smores then walked in the waves

Ate with 6 siblings at the Fish House Vera Cruz for lunch. It was wonderful to have everyone together since..... a long time =)

Gave Aunt Meredith a taste of what a blessing babies can be =)

Hung out with my wonderful crazy sisters whom I love with all my heart!

Walked around Seaport Village with my wonderful In-laws and got to visit with them for a few hours.

Aunt Ashlee was able to get her "Emme Fix" in while there. We love Aunty time!

Our precious Emme with Grandpa tossing a coin in

Got some swinging time in

We enjoyed seeing everyone in our short 72 hour trip. Thank you everyone who went out of their way to make it a special trip for us. We love you!
